Keep your budget safe on this browser
A saved budget belongs to this browser. A shared link is a copy of the numbers, not an invitation to a private account.
What Save does
Save writes the selected month’s salary, EMIs, expenses and bills into local browser storage. Returning to the same domain in the same browser can restore that month. A different browser, device or private browsing session does not automatically have the same record.
Clearing site data, resetting your browser or losing the device can remove those records. Browser storage is not an encrypted vault. Someone who can use the same unlocked browser may be able to open your budget.
Daily records and editable backups
Daily entries save immediately. Open Your space → Download backup to export daily records, goals, challenges and monthly budgets in one JSON file. Restore a JSON backup replaces daily data and any matching monthly budgets. Other monthly budgets stay on the device. Preferences such as the monthly currency selector are not included: check the displayed currency after moving devices.
Sign in with the same account on each device to load and sync saved records automatically. Offline edits wait until you reconnect. Independent edits merge when possible; conflicting changes pause sync for review in Your account. Your first sign-in loads an existing account copy; an earlier device copy is available under Sync recovery.
Keep a printable record
Select PDF in the toolbar to open the print dialog. Choose Save as PDF, check the preview, then save the file somewhere you control. This provides a readable snapshot of the current month. The tool cannot import a PDF back as editable budget entries.
What a shared link includes
Share encodes the current salary, labels, amounts and bills in the link itself. Encoding is not encryption. Anyone who gets the link can decode its contents or open it in the tracker. Recipients can edit their own copy; they do not change your original browser record.
New links place the snapshot after the # character. Browsers do not include this fragment in the initial HTTP request, but it can still be copied, stored in history or read by scripts on the page. Do not post a real budget link publicly. Existing older links using ?d= may also appear in server logs.
There is no revoke button
Once someone has a snapshot link, deleting your browser data does not remove their copy. If you only want to explain the tool, share the plain afteremi.in homepage instead of your budget link.
Moving to another device
Open a snapshot link on the new device, select the appropriate month and use Save. The link contains the figures, not the selected month, currency preference or a history of all your saved months. Check those settings yourself. Use one link per budget you want to transfer.
Remove local records
Use your browser’s site-data settings for afteremi.in to remove stored budgets and preferences. Start blank only replaces the currently displayed month when saved; it does not clear all months. Read the privacy details.
